We are currently seeking candidates for the following roles.
Intermediate Liability Adjuster
Qualifications or Experience:
- University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance and/or law
- CIP designation preferred
- Independent adjusting license preferred
- Ongoing commitment to education and learning
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in an independent adjusting role or equivalent, with specific experience in handling third party liability claims. Candidates with Lloyd’s of London client experience will be given preference.
- Advanced analytical skills, including the ability to comprehend legal and economic loss documentation, in order to effectively analyze coverage, liability, and damages, as well as make recommendations with respect to settlement of claims to insurers
- Advanced oral communication skills, including the ability to author detailed reports of a technical nature, and correspond with all stakeholders, including insurers, insureds, claimants, lawyers and experts
- Ability to enter dockets on a timely basis, in accordance with firm policies, as well as ability to manage billings in order to meet monthly and annual targets
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage conflicting priorities in an effective manner, in a very fast-paced and demanding environment
- Effective conflict-resolution skills, including the ability to de-escalate difficult situations
- Proactive and positive approach to customer service, ensuring that all inquiries are effectively dealt with in a timely manner
- Exceptional computer skills, including the ability to comfortably navigate the Microsoft Office suite of software, as well as claims management and billing systems. Required ability to work in a paperless environment, including but not limited to, search, organization and utilization of data in electronic format. Knowledge of Lloyd’s of London systems, such as Lineage, preferred.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assessment of third party liability insurance policies to determine the availability of coverage, reporting of coverage assessments to insurers, and authoring of coverage position letters to stakeholders
- Investigation of liability claims, including but not limited to, interviews, site investigations, and obtaining written statements
- Assessment of investigation materials to determine liability and damages, in consideration of the appropriate legal framework
- Preparation of detailed reports to clients and stakeholders outlining the results of the investigation completed, the assessment undertaken, and recommendations for the course of action to be followed
- Recommendation of reserves based on established reserve philosophies
- Negotiation of settlements with third party claimants and other parties, through written and verbal communication
- Retaining and working with defence counsel, experts, and other third parties, to defend claims that are in litigation
- Preparation of Full & Final Releases and other legal documents
- Entering dockets on a timely basis, in accordance with firm policies, as well as ability to manage billings in order to meet monthly and annual targets.
Administration Manager
Qualifications or Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the role of Administration Manager in an independent adjusting firm. Candidates with Lloyd’s of London client experience will be given preference
- Advanced analytical skills with respect to establishing and maintaining reserves, for the purpose of bordereau production, and management of payments on claim files
- Effective data management skills to assist with the production of reports , loss runs, and other data as required by various stakeholders
- Ability to manage client trust accounts, and other banking requirements
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage conflicting priorities in an effective manner, in a very fast-paced and demanding environment
- Exceptional computer skills, including the ability to comfortably navigate the Microsoft Office suite of software, as well as claims management and billing systems. Required ability to work in a paperless environment, including but not limited to, organization and utilization of data in electronic format. Knowledge of Lloyd’s of London systems, such as Lineage, preferred
- Effective time management and organizational skills, including managing own workload to meet internal and client service levels
- Proactive and positive approach to customer service, ensuring that all inquiries are effectively dealt with in a timely manner

Role Responsibilities:
- Management of an administration team for an independent adjusting firm, including communication of strategic direction, performance monitoring and fostering improvement
- Establishment and implementation of processes and protocols to enable effective workflows for the management of claim files
- Establishment and maintenance of reserves, and issuance of payments on claim files, with the utilization of a claims management system
- Production of Market Intelligence (MI) deliverables, including Lloyd’s bordereaux, payment bordereaux, loss runs etc.
- Management of client trust accounts and other banking requirements
- Data entry and management for all aspects of claim file handling
- Preparation and collation of reports for transmission to clients and other stakeholders
- General office functions, including management of vendor payments and other day-to-day administration
- Collaboration with external professional advisors including accountants
